Sullia: MESCOM staff, assistant engineer settle assault case through mutual talks

Sullia, Aug 4: An altercation broke out between a MESCOM employee and an assistant engineer over a work-related issue at the Sullia MESCOM control room on Sunday, August 2. The dispute was later resolved amicably at the police station.

The complainant, Raghava Shetty, a resident of Sullia, was on duty at the control room when the accused, Sullia MESCOM assistant engineer (AE) Supreeth, arrived at the spot. According to the complaint, Supreeth picked a quarrel regarding a work matter, snatched Shetty's mobile phone, and smashed it on the ground.

The complaint further alleged that the assistant engineer abused Shetty using foul language and physically assaulted him.

Based on the complaint, a non-cognizable report (NC: 79/SUL/NCR/2026) was registered at the Sullia police station. The police summoned both parties to the station for an inquiry, during which the complainant and the accused reached a compromise and settled the matter through mutual discussions.
