Randhir, Rishi Kapoor Created Nostalgia: Riteish

Mumbai, Mar 24 (IANS): Riteish Deshmukh says he felt overwhelmed to work with veterans like Randhir and Rishi Kapoor, who shared insights about their personal and professional life on and off the sets of "Housefull 2".

"The experience was (too good). I mean to work with Chintuji (Rishi) and to see him act... besides acting, the thing is that this is the first time I have got an opportunity to work with actors whose films I have grown up watching. So you talk about what had happened then (in their times)," the 33-year-old said here in an interview.

"There are so many stories, be it Dabbooji (Randhir), Chintuji or Mithun da (Mithun Chakraborty)...off-sets it was nostalgic to know about how things were at that time, how was his (Randhir's) father, how was his relationship with his father, how did he turn director..." he added.

Riteish says Randhir, the eldest son of legendary actor Raj Kapoor, also shared some trivia with him.

"Not many people know that Dabbooji debuted as an actor, he directed his own film at the age of 21. He directed his father and his grandfather in the same film called 'Kal, Aaj aur Kal'. People think that Raj Kapoor made that film. So it's great to know so many trivia," said Riteish.

In "Housefull 2", directed by Sajid Khan, there are a total of 12 actors in key roles. Apart from Rishi, Randhir, Mithun and Riteish, the cast includes Akshay Kumar, Shreyas Talpade, John Abraham, Boman Irani, Jacqueline Fernandes, Asin Thottumkal, Shazahn Padamsee and Zarine Khan.

The comedy film hits theatres April 5.
