Udupi, Aug 12: Dr Krishna Prasad Kudlu, president and medical director of Prasad Netralaya Super Specialty Eye Hospital, Udupi, has been appointed by the Karnataka government as the president of the state’s ‘Vision Committee’ (Eye Health Committee).
The appointment is considered a significant recognition of Dr Krishna Prasad Kudlu’s contributions to the field of ophthalmology and his continued commitment to strengthening eye-care services across Karnataka.

As president of the vision committee, Dr Krishna Prasad Kudlu will play a key role in providing expert guidance and recommendations to the Karnataka government on matters related to eye health, prevention of avoidable blindness, accessibility of eye-care services, human resources, infrastructure and advanced ophthalmic treatment facilities.
For several years, Dr Krishna Prasad Kudlu has been actively involved in community-based eye-care programmes, particularly initiatives aimed at providing quality eye-care services to economically disadvantaged communities and people lacking access to adequate medical facilities.
His leadership and experience in ophthalmology have contributed significantly to expanding comprehensive eye-care services and improving access to quality treatment.
His appointment as president of the vision committee is expected to further strengthen efforts towards improving eye health and reducing preventable blindness across the state.
