Panaji, Aug 14: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Thursday flagged off 46 vehicles dedicated to highway policing in Goa, in a move aimed at strengthening road safety, enforcement and emergency response across the state.
Senior police officers described the allocation as a significant milestone, saying it was the largest number of vehicles provided to the Goa Police Department at one time since its inception.
The new vehicles are expected to enhance police mobility and improve patrolling and response capabilities along Goa’s highways, particularly in tackling traffic violations, road accidents and other emergencies.
The initiative is aimed at ensuring a stronger police presence on the state’s major road networks and enabling quicker intervention during road-related incidents.
