Panaji, Aug 18: A massive crocodile entering a residential home in Khandepar, Goa, left residents alarmed after the reptile took shelter inside the property, prompting people in the area to alert authorities.

A video from the scene showed the crocodile moving around inside the residential premises as residents kept their distance. The unexpected presence of the reptile created a tense situation, with people who had been sitting outside quickly retreating into their homes when it began moving.

A couple of stray dogs were also seen panicking as the crocodile moved around the property. The dogs barked at the reptile, adding to the tense scenes captured in the video.

Wildlife rescuer Charan Desai and his team reached the location after being alerted and launched a rescue operation. The crocodile was eventually captured safely and removed from the residential area.

The operation was completed without harm to the family or the animal, bringing the situation under control.

The video later drew widespread reactions on social media, with users expressing surprise at the unusual sight of such a large crocodile inside a home.

“Why were the humans chilling outside even after spotting it, bruh,” one user commented.

Another focused on the stray dogs, writing, “Indian dogs are really fearless, man.”

“I’m so scared for Dogesh bhai,” another viewer said while referring to one of the dogs seen in the video.

The person recording the crocodile also became a subject of discussion, with one user asking, “Who is recording this without any fear?”

The reactions largely centred on the size of the crocodile, the behaviour of the stray dogs and the apparent calmness of some residents despite the reptile being inside the property.

The safe rescue by Desai and his team eventually brought the unusual and tense episode to an end.
