Bengaluru, Aug 19: As part of the Freedom Habba, the Freedom Parade witnessed a vibrant celebration of Tulunadu’s rich cultural heritage, with Yakshagana and Bharatanatyam performances led by Panchami Maroor, the proud daughter of Tulunadu.

Under the leadership of Panchami Maroor, the Yaksha Taranga team presented a captivating Yakshagana performance, showcasing the traditional art form and cultural richness of Tulunadu.

A special highlight of the event was the opportunity to perform Yakshagana on the grand stage set up in front of Vidhana Soudha, the seat of Karnataka’s legislative power. The performance at such a prestigious and iconic location was a proud and memorable moment for the people of Tulunadu.

Adding further cultural splendour to the occasion, the Shree Paramparaa Hejje Gejje Y P Art Foundation (R), Bengaluru, led by Panchami Maroor, presented a graceful Bharatanatyam performance to a Tulu song on the same grand stage. The unique presentation beautifully brought together Tulunadu’s traditional cultural identity and India’s classical dance heritage.

The performances were presented in the presence of Karnataka chief minister D K Shivakumar, minister for Greater Bengaluru Development Krishna Byre Gowda, along with several dignitaries and a large gathering of spectators. The presentation of Yakshagana before such distinguished personalities was a moment of great pride and appreciation for Panchami Maroor and the Yaksha Taranga team.

The sight of Tulunadu’s traditional Yakshagana on one side and the elegance of Bharatanatyam on the other, on the grand stage in front of Vidhana Soudha, added immense cultural significance to the Freedom Habba celebrations. Having both art forms represented under the leadership of Panchami Maroor at such a prestigious platform was indeed a proud moment for Tulunadu.

This prestigious opportunity to showcase the art, culture and traditions of Tulunadu on a prominent state-level platform was made possible with the support of the Jai Tulu Nadu Bengaluru (R) team, Nidhish Shetty and Yathish M (Digital PRO). Their contribution towards providing this platform to the artists and promoting Tulunadu’s rich cultural heritage is deeply appreciated.

The participation of Panchami Maroor, along with her teams, in the Freedom Habba has brought immense pride to Tulunadu by taking its traditional art and cultural heritage to the heart of Bengaluru.
