Goa to introduce new SOPs to regulate rent-a-cab operations

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, Aug 21: The Goa government has completed an audit of rent-a-cab operations across the state and will introduce new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline and regulate the sector, Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho said.

The proposed guidelines are aimed at curbing unauthorised rent-a-cab operations and bringing greater transparency and accountability to the industry.

Godinho said the government intends to establish a more structured system for rent-a-cab operators across Goa. The new SOPs are expected to clearly define operational requirements and strengthen regulatory mechanisms.

The move is part of the government's efforts to improve oversight of the sector and ensure that rent-a-cab services operate in accordance with established rules.

Authorities are expected to implement the revised procedures after finalising the new guidelines.
