Bantwal, Aug 28: The Altar Servers and Marian Sodality Day was celebrated on Sunday, August 23, at St Thomas the Apostle Church, Nirkan.

The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Fr Anil Roshan Lobo, parish priest of Nirkan. During the Eucharistic celebration, three altar servers were formally admitted to the Altar Servers’ Association. As part of the admission rite, they were presented with the rule book and insignia. The rite was conducted by the parish priest.

Later, Fr Anil Roshan Lobo, along with Br Arun Prasad and Br Joslin, conducted various group activities and action songs for the altar servers and Marian Sodality members, making the programme lively and engaging.

Sr Grace Ida, animator of the Marian Sodality, and Sr Severine Fernandes, convener of the Commission for Faith Formation and Vocation, were also present for the programme.

The programme was hosted by the Altar Servers and Marian Sodality, in association with the Commission for Vocation and Faith Formation.

At the conclusion of the programme, soup and samosas were served to all the participants. The refreshments were sponsored by Lasrado Caterers.
