Moodbidri, Aug 28: Following allegations of adulteration and the use of harmful chemicals, officials from the health department, town municipal council (TMC), and the Food Safety and Standards Authority conducted a surprise raid at the weekly market here and collected samples of various food items.

The officials inspected vegetable stalls, fruit vendors, and fast-food centres operating in the market area. They thoroughly checked the hygiene and safety standards of the food items being sold and gathered samples from several outlets for further testing.

Food safety officer Dr Praveen, TMC health inspector Shashirekha, health inspector Khadar Saab Nadaf, food safety officer Girish, health inspecting officer Nataraj, and TMC community mobiliser Amitha, among others, were part of the inspecting team.
