Bantwal, Aug 30: An LPG tanker travelling from Mangaluru to Bengaluru overturned after crashing into a road divider near Kadegoli in Thumbe on the national highway around midnight on Saturday.

The driver, identified as Pappu Chauhan, was temporarily trapped inside the overturned vehicle following the mishap but miraculously escaped without sustaining any injuries. The accident caused a brief disruption of vehicular movement on the busy highway stretch.

A police team led by Bantwal traffic station sub-inspector Adarsh rushed to the spot and took necessary measures to ease the traffic gridlock. The overturned gas tanker was later cleared from the road using a crane under the supervision of Nagesh Poojary, after which normal traffic flow was fully restored.
