Davanagere, Sep 6: The seventh day of the Novena at the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Health in Harihara, Davanagere District, diocese of Shimoga, commenced with a Rosary procession. The Novena, led by Fr George K A, began at 6:00 pm. Floral tributes to Harihara Matha were also offered, led by basilica rector and parish priest Fr George K A.
At 6:30 pm Fr Franklin D'Souza, youth director of diocese of Shimoga, offered the Holy Eucharist. He focused his homily on the theme: ‘Mother of the elderly and parents pushed to the margins of society — Mother of Health!’. He based his preaching on Proverbs 23:19-25 and Matthew 15:1-9.




























In his homily he emphasized the importance of respecting, caring for, and supporting elderly parents and those marginalized by society. He urged the faithful to follow Christ’s command of love and compassion, placing genuine care for parents and the vulnerable above mere external traditions.
Following the Mass, Fr Franklin D'Souza led the adoration and prayed healing prayer for the pilgrims.
Fr George K A, rector of the Minor Basilica, expressed gratitude to Fr Franklin D'Souza and the benefactors.
