Mangaluru, Sep 10: The department of business administration, School of Business & Management, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) organised a one-day international seminar on emerging trends in business: Navigating change, technology and the global economy on September 7th in Robert Sequeira Hall of the University.

Shawn Crasta, vice-president – Human resources, ATI Robotics, Bengaluru was the inaugurator and keynote speaker. Dr (Col) Praveen Martis, SJ, vice-chancellor of the university presided over the programme. Dr Ronald Nazareth, registrar of the university presided over the programme. Claret Vinaya Pereira, associate dean of business & management, Chethan Shettigar, assistant dean of business & management Binni Chan, Nayanashree, the staff coordinators were on the dais.

Shawn Crasta in his speech said, highlighted the emerging trends in business and its different perspectives.

Dr (Col) Praveen Martis in his presidential remarks spoke about the rapidly changing India and the mindset of the youngsters about the recent technological development in the thrust area. He told the participants to update themselves according to the changing scenario.

Avil Pinto, co-founder and director – Talent management, ALSALECO Counselling Dubai was the resource person for the technical session I and spoke on 'Your degree is not enough: Becoming future-ready for the global job market' and Divya D’Souza, life and business transformation strategist, Mangaluru was the resource person for the technical session II and spoke on 'Beyond AI: Building a future-ready and entrepreneurial mindset for the global economy'.

Reva compered the programme. Claret Vinaya Pereira welcomed the gathering. Binni Chan gave insights about the seminar. Ann Varghese proposed the vote of thanks.

The technical session were followed by model making competition by II BBA E students on Business Law landmark case studies for which Dr Arati Shanbhag and Claret Pereira served as judges.
