Mangaluru, Sep 10: In connection with a suo motu case registered at the Lokayukta central office, officials conducted surprise raids on seven gram panchayats across Dakshina Kannada district on Thursday, September 10.
The raids were carried out at Bellare and Panja gram panchayats in Sullia taluk, Talapady, Konaje, and Balepuni in Ullal taluk, Bala in Mangaluru taluk, and Beluvai in Moodbidri taluk.

The widespread operation was conducted under the guidance of Karnataka Lokayukta Mangaluru division superintendent of police B P Dinesh Kumar. The raiding teams comprised Mangaluru Lokayukta deputy superintendents of police Dr Gana P Kumar and Suresh Kumar P, and inspector Bharathi G; Karwar Lokayukta deputy superintendent of police Dhanya Nayak and inspector Ravi N N; and Udupi Lokayukta deputy superintendent of police Hala Murthy Rao V S and inspector Manjunath, along with other staff members.
A detailed report highlighting the shortcomings and irregularities discovered during the inspections will be submitted to the Lokayukta central office for further action.
