Udupi, Sept 11: The Udupi district administration has released the latest details regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls, voter registration and disposal of notices, as per the directions of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).

The district has a total of 10,00,754 voters, comprising 4,84,236 men, 5,16,509 women and nine third-gender voters. There are 1,244 polling stations across the district.

A total of 97,673 notices have been generated in the district, of which 84,120 notices have been served, achieving 86.12%. Another 13,553 notices are pending delivery. Of the notices served, inquiries into 18,371 cases have been completed, while inquiries into 65,749 notices remain pending.

The last date for conducting inquiries is October 12, while October 22 is the deadline for disposal of claims and objections. The final electoral roll will be published on October 27.

The district has received a total of 44,841 applications under Forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8. These include 10,231 Form 6 applications for inclusion of new voters, 321 Form 6A applications from Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), 744 Form 7 applications seeking objections/deletion of names, and 33,545 Form 8 applications relating to corrections, replacement of EPICs and identification of persons with disabilities.

Special campaign on September 19 and 20
To ensure that all eligible citizens are enrolled in the electoral roll, a second-phase special campaign will be conducted at all polling stations in the district on September 19 and 20.

Young men and women who will attain the age of 18 years as on October 1, 2026, are eligible to apply for inclusion in the electoral roll.

Special provision for senior citizens, persons with disabilities and NRIs

Senior citizens, persons with disabilities, those suffering from illness and NRIs have been provided a special facility wherein an adult family member may personally visit the concerned ERO/AERO office on their behalf and submit the required documents and information for disposal of notices.

Due to the reorganisation of polling stations and changes in serial numbers, the Part Number or Serial Number of some voters may have changed. Voters who are unable to find their names using their old Part Number can search for their names using their EPIC number through the Election Commission voter portal?Attachment.png or the ECINET mobile app.

How to apply for new voter registration: 

Eligible citizens can apply online by submitting Form 6 through the voter portal or the ECINET app along with self-attested documents serving as proof of age and address.

Alternatively, the filled Form 6 and declaration, along with the required documents, can be submitted to the concerned Booth Level Officer (BLO) or at the ERO/AERO office.
