Udupi: Rs 42.75 crore released for Agumbe Ghat, Hebri road development

Udupi, Sep 14: The National Highways Authority has released Rs 42.75 crore for road development works on selected stretches of National Highway 169A, connecting the coastal region, Malnad and North Karnataka, said MP Kota Srinivas Poojary.

The sanctioned funds will be utilised for road development from Agumbe to Hebri town, including concrete retaining walls at selected stretches of Agumbe Ghat, as well as road development on selected sections between Parkala and Coastal Junction.

A request for the development of these roads had earlier been submitted to the Central government. Accordingly, the Centre has released the funds through the National Highways Authority, and the National Highways Authority will undertake the development works at the earliest, he said in a press release.
