Mumbai, Sep 18: Mumbai is likely to experience partly cloudy skies with light rain in the city and suburbs on Friday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum temperature is expected to be around 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to settle at 27 degrees Celsius.

Between 8 am on Thursday and 8 am on Friday, Mumbai recorded 2.61 mm of rainfall in the city, 9.75 mm in the eastern suburbs and 10.41 mm in the western suburbs. The western suburbs recorded the highest rainfall during the 24-hour period.

Mumbai is expected to witness a high tide of 2.99 metres at 3.42 pm on Friday, while another high tide of 3.15 metres is forecast at 4.59 am on Saturday. A low tide of 1.63 metres is expected at 9.38 pm on Friday, followed by another low tide of 2.66 metres at 11.27 am on Saturday.

Across Maharashtra, weather conditions remained mixed, with temperatures above normal in several districts while most parts of the state remained largely dry, according to the IMD's 8.30 am weather report on September 18.

Solapur recorded the state's highest maximum temperature at 37.8 degrees Celsius, which was 5.6 degrees above normal. Jeur recorded 36.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Parbhani at 36.2 degrees Celsius and Udgir at 35 degrees Celsius.

Satara and Ahmednagar also recorded maximum temperatures 4.2 degrees above normal. Mahabaleshwar was the coolest station, with a maximum temperature of 21.4 degrees Celsius.

Parbhani recorded the highest rainfall in the state, receiving 80 mm in the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Friday. Mahabaleshwar recorded 14.2 mm, while Santacruz in Mumbai received 8.4 mm and Ratnagiri 6.7 mm.

Several stations, including Colaba in Mumbai, Nashik, Aurangabad, Sangli and Satara, recorded no rainfall during the period.

Minimum temperatures also remained above normal at several locations. Jeur recorded 21.5 degrees Celsius, 4.6 degrees above normal, while Ahmednagar recorded 24.3 degrees Celsius, 3.6 degrees above normal.

Humidity remained high across several parts of the state. Mahabaleshwar recorded 100 per cent humidity during both morning and evening observations, while Dahanu recorded 95 per cent morning humidity.

Overall, the IMD data indicated warm conditions across several parts of Maharashtra, with most stations remaining dry while Parbhani recorded significant rainfall.
