Ladyhill Victoria High School hosts annual sports meet with enthusiasm

Mangaluru, Oct 8: The annual sports meet of Ladyhill Victoria High School was held on 8th October 2026. The event was attended by parents, students, and esteemed guests, making it a grand celebration of sportsmanship and school spirit.

The program was graced by the chief guest of the day, Amitha Prabhu, an illustrious alumna of Lady Hill Victoria School and also secretary of Alumni Association. Also, present were, the joint Secretary and president of the function Sister Maria Kripa A C, PTA vice president Avitha.

Headmistress Sister Pushpa Pinto AC and the physical education instructor Anand.

The festivities commenced with a lively school band, setting a cheerful tone for the day. This was followed by a march past featuring all classes, each marching gracefully with their flag bearers and placard holders. The dignitaries then hoisted the national flag, and each team leader introduced their respective teams to the guests.

Tanisha led the students in taking the oath, symbolizing the spirit of fairness and sportsmanship. A prayer was recited by a group of students, fostering a sense of unity and devotion. Headmistress Sister Pushpa Pinto AC delivered a warm welcome speech, introducing the dignitaries and the chief guest to the audience.

The highlight of the opening ceremony was the lighting of the sports torch. The torch was carried into the arena by our national-level achievers—Alisa Rego, Charvi, Jyotika, Jeevika and Tanvi, —who lit the flame to inaugurate the sports meet.

Chief guest Amitha declared the sports meet open and addressed the students, inspiring them to excel and be excellent athletes. Her encouraging words motivated everyone to give their best.

Following this Sister Maria Kripa AC in her presidential speech blessed the students and inspired them with her words of wisdom.
Vote of thanks was proposed by teacher Wilma Lobo.

Students took part in various events like 100mtr, 200mtrs, 400mtrs, 800mtrs race, relay, shot put and long jump. Prizes and trophies were awarded to the winners.

The event concluded with the singing of the national anthem, symbolizing unity and patriotism. It was a memorable day filled with enthusiasm, pride, and the spirit of healthy competition.
