Bengaluru, Oct 10: Former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is serving a life sentence in a rape case, will continue to remain at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru after prison authorities reportedly cancelled their decision to transfer him to Hindalga Central Prison in Belagavi.
According to sources, the decision to cancel the transfer was taken on Friday evening, just hours after the Department of Prisons and Correctional Services ordered his relocation following the recovery of a mobile phone from his prison cell.
The transfer order was issued after a surprise inspection by a Central Crime Branch (CCB) team at Parappana Agrahara prison reportedly led to the recovery of a mobile phone and a pen drive from Revanna and another undertrial prisoner.

The police also seized a charger and a notebook during the inspection, raising concerns about prison security and the alleged possession of prohibited electronic devices inside the facility.
Following the recovery, Prisons and Correctional Services Department Director General of Police Alok Kumar reportedly issued an order on Friday directing that Revanna be shifted to Hindalga Central Prison in Belagavi.
An official email was sent to the prison authorities in Belagavi, and the superintendent was instructed to make the necessary arrangements for his transfer under escort.
However, the proposed relocation was subsequently cancelled, and Revanna is expected to continue serving his sentence at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru.
