BJP will return to power in Goa in 2027: Rane

Panaji, Oct 17: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Friday expressed confidence that the BJP government, led by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, would return to power in the 2027 Goa Assembly elections, asserting that the party remained united and focused on the development of the state.

Speaking at the inauguration of MRI and echocardiography facilities at the South Goa District Hospital, Rane dismissed speculation about differences between him and the Chief Minister, stating that the BJP government was working collectively for the welfare of Goa and its people.

“We are all united. There are no differences between us. We are all working under the Chief Minister for the good of Goa and its people. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, we have been able to achieve so much development in the state,” Rane said.

Taking a dig at the Congress over its Goy Rakhonn Yatra, Rane said merely marching through the streets would not help protect Goa or address its challenges. He stressed that the state needed a clear roadmap for development rather than political campaigns centred on street marches.

“What is required is a clear roadmap for the state's development, which has been demonstrated by the BJP government under Chief Minister Pramod Sawant,” he said, reiterating his confidence that the BJP would retain power in the next Assembly elections.

Responding to reports that the Goy Rakhonn Yatra had entered his constituency, Rane said the participants would have witnessed the development carried out in the area under the BJP government.

The minister's remarks came amid political activity ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, with the Congress using the Goy Rakhonn Yatra to highlight its concerns over issues affecting Goa.
