Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Oct 20: A married woman was allegedly assaulted at her home and robbed of gold jewellery worth Rs 1.2 lakh following a dispute over social media reels in the Bajrangnagar area of Chikalthana in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

According to reports, the dispute arose because a 22-year-old woman was making reels with the victim's husband, which the victim strongly opposed. Allegedly angered by the objection, the young woman, along with her family members, went to the victim's residence in Bajrangnagar.

The accused allegedly barged into the house and assaulted the married woman. During the attack, they reportedly threatened her, saying, “Leave your husband, or we will not let you live.”

The accused also allegedly forcibly took gold jewellery worth Rs 1.2 lakh from the woman's person before fleeing the scene.

Following a complaint by the victim, the MIDC Cidco police registered a case against the 22-year-old woman from Mhada Colony, her mother, father, brother and an unidentified man under various sections of the law.

Police are investigating the case.
