Nagpur, Oct 30: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested two alleged drug traffickers and seized 3.01 kg of amphetamine, valued at approximately Rs 2.4 crore in the illicit market, from a bus in Nagpur, an official said on Friday.
The DRI's Nagpur Regional Unit, under the Mumbai Zone, said the operation had led to the dismantling of an inter-state drug trafficking syndicate.
The contraband was concealed inside three ladies' suits that appeared unusually heavy, according to the DRI's Nagpur Regional Unit.

Acting on specific intelligence, DRI officials intercepted two passengers travelling on a bus from Delhi to Bengaluru via Nagpur on October 28, 2026, on suspicion of carrying narcotic substances in their luggage.
According to a DRI statement, officers boarded the bus at Bhagimari Toll Plaza on National Highway 47 in Nagpur and conducted a detailed examination of the passengers' luggage.
During the inspection, three ladies' suits were found to be unusually heavy, raising suspicion among the officials. A closer examination revealed white-coloured pouches concealed inside the garments, containing transparent polythene packets filled with a white crystalline substance.
Field tests conducted on representative samples drawn separately from all three packets indicated the presence of amphetamine, the statement said.
The three packets contained a total of 3.01 kg of the drug, with an estimated illicit market value of nearly Rs 2.4 crore. The contraband was subsequently seized under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
The two passengers were arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act and produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate (JFMC) court in Nagpur on September 29, the DRI said.
The agency said its sustained action against organised narcotics trafficking networks operating across state borders reflected its commitment to combating drug trafficking and contributing to the Government of India's vision of a 'Nasha Mukt Bharat'.
