Madhava Kripa School marks Kannada Rajyotsava, Deepavali with grand cultural celebration

Media Release

Udupi, Nov 4: The primary section of Madhava Kripa School celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava and Deepavali with great enthusiasm, alongside a prize distribution ceremony.

The chief guest, Sandhya Kamat, Kannada teacher of the school's Middle Section and a content creator, addressed the students and highlighted the importance of learning multiple languages. Comparing language learning to a wholesome meal comprising different dishes, she emphasised that learning languages beyond one's mother tongue is equally important. She also encouraged students to incorporate Kannada words into their daily conversations, even while communicating in other languages, to develop a greater connection with the language.

The cultural performances by the students were among the major highlights of the celebration. A song and an engaging dance drama depicting the beauty of Karnataka, its land, water resources, people, agricultural traditions and rich cultural heritage captivated the audience. A special dance performance highlighting the significance and message of Deepavali was also presented.

Students who excelled in various competitions were felicitated with prizes in the presence of the dignitaries.

The programme was attended by School principal Swati Kulkarni, vice principal Kasturi Kamath, Jyothi Santhosh, headmistress Asha Nayak, and members of the teaching and non-teaching staff.

Shivansh Shetty and Sharvi Nayak compered the programme. Teacher Radhika Patil introduced the chief guest, while teacher Sujatha Bhandarkar announced the prize winners. Hemani highlighted the significance of Kannada Rajyotsava, and Jayanth Shenoy spoke about the importance of celebrating Deepavali.

Srihith Shenoy welcomed the gathering, while Vibha B proposed the vote of thanks.

Teachers Nagashree, Mamata and Kavita Shenoy coordinated the programme and contributed to its successful organisation.
