Mumbai, Apr 13: The metro-based Media Sports Academy will organize the ‘10th Media Cup Cricket–2012’ tournament at Central Railway Sports Association grounds, Parel (East), on Saturday April 14.
Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray will inaugurate the tourney at 10.00 am on Saturday, stated Academy president Jawahar Nadar.
The tournament will be held as a memorial to ‘Mid-Day’ crime reporter Jyotirmoi Dey, who was slain by unidentified assailants on June 12, 2011. “The Academy had organized it’s first tourney with 16 teams a decade ago, which has grown with the unified efforts of media representatives,” added Academy honorary secretary Kelvin Joshua Udupi.
Over 100 teams will partake in the tournament on Saturday while Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh Maharashtra ® will be participating for the second time. Kannadiga Patrakartara cricket team will be led by Jaya C Poojary and Daya Sagar Chowta.
