Sullia: Vijay Mallya Beseeches Lord Subrahmanya for IPL Team's Success

Sullia, Apr 20: Well-known industrialist, Vijay Mallya, visited Subrahmanya and offered special puja to Lord Subrahmanya in the taluk on Thursday April 19.

Mallya, who is bothered by the poor performances of his Kingfisher Airlines and IPL cricket team Royal Challengers Bangalore, offered the puja, duly adopting a religious vow to offer Panchamruta Abhisheka and Ashlesha Bali services to the Lord, if the problems faced by his embattled entities die down soon, and if they are able to put in better performances.

He also pledged to provide gold plate covering to the door of the outside Mantap of the temple.

On behalf of the temple, governing council president, Krishnaprasas Madtila, executive officer, H M Kali, and protocol officer, Venkat Raj, received Vijay Mallya on his arrival.

Later, Mallya went to Lord Tirumala Venkataramana Temple in Bantwal, and paid obeisance to the presiding deity there.
