Udupi, May 13: "The movies with significant messages should lead to a healthy life in society", said Swami Laxmivarateerta of Shiroor mutt during the muhurtham of the movie which will soon be produced in the temple city..
He was speaking at the muhurtham of Kannada movie ‘Maha Nadi’ by the city based J J Production at Sheshashayana auditorium of Hotel Kidiyoor, here on Sunday May 13.
The movies with moral and ethical messages are declining in present times, while the youth is misled by movies that have violence and crime sequences, Swami Laxmivarateerta expressed.
"The social message in the movie should inspire the viewers to reform their life", added Swami Laxmivarateerta. He also hoped that the movie Maha Nadi will make history by completing 100 days in box office.
Fr Godfrey Saldanha, parish priest of St Joseph the Worker’s parish, Merlapadav said that thousands of movies were produced in 100 years of Indian celluloid that has employed several lakh of people. The movies can make an impact on both illiterates and literates as well, said Fr Godfrey.
Kannada movie director, Krishnappa Uppoor said that the movie is based on the saga of a fisherwoman who is willing to marry a youngster from Mumbai. The majority of shootings will be done in a tiny village known as Keni that lies at the beach of Ankola on Arabian Sea. Besides this, the shooting will also take place in Udupi, Manipal, Murdeshwar, Kasargod and Mumbai. The dubbing of songs will be planned in Bangkok, said Krishnappa.
