Carrie Underwood Triumphs at CMT Awards


Los Angeles, Jun 8 (IANS): Singer Carrie Underwood triumphed at the Country Music Television (CMT) Awards taking home two trophies - video of the year and collaborative video of the year.

"Thank you so much! These #CMTawards belong to all of us! What an amazing night! (sic)," the 29-year-old tweeted.

The awards held Wednesday at Nashville, Tennessee, were attended by a host of country stars, including Hank Williams Jr. and Toby Keith as well as US President Barack Obama, reports contactmusic.com.

Other winners included Miranda Lambert, who took home female video of the year for "Over you" and Luke Bryan, who's track "I don't want this night to end" was named Male Video of the Year.

Performers on the night included Zac Brown Band, who performed their new single "The Wind" and Miranda Lambert's all-girl group, Pistol Annies.
