Rihanna Rescued from Hotel Fire

London, Jun 28 (IANS): Pop star Rihanna and 300 other guests were rescued from a hotel here after a fire broke out in a lift shaft.

Femalefirst.co.uk said the 24-year-old tweeted a picture of herself Wednesday bundled up in the back of a taxi in a grey hoodie and sunglasses and captioned: "Roamin da streets since 6 a.m.!"

She also posted a snapshot of a fire engine outside the Corinthia Hotel.

The hotel said the incident was not serious, no one was injured and the evacuation was a safety precaution.

A service elevator motor got burnt at the hotel, discharging smoke. A fire alarm immediately rang out.
