Mangalore, Jul 28: Under the joint aegis of Yuvavahini, Mulky, and Billawa Samaj Seva Sangh, Mulky, a 10-day ‘Tulu Chitrotsava–2012’ will be held from Monday July 30 to Wednesday August 8.  It is being organized as part of the decennial celebrations of Billawa Samaj Seva Sangh, Mulky, with a view to promoting Tulu movies in rural areas.

Tulu movies that bagged state and national awards including old movies will be screened daily at Billawa Sangh, Mulky, at 5.00 pm.  Tulu movies that have contributed to literary development in Tulunadu will be screened free for ten days.
 
Renowned stage artiste Tamma Laxman will inaugurate the Chitrotsava on Monday July 30. 

Tulu movies ‘Badi’, ‘September 8’, ‘Bolli Tota’, ‘Gaggara’, ‘Onte Adjust Malpi’, ‘Maribale’, ‘Bangar Patler’, ‘Koti Chennaya’ (black and white), ‘Birse’, and ‘Koti Chennaya’ (colour) will be staged during the 10-day festival.

A seminar on Tulu movie production and screening will be held at 3.00 pm on Sunday August 5. Movie actors Sarojini Shetty, Madhu Suratkal, Tamma Laxman, and Mulky Chandrashekar Suvarna will participate in the seminar.  The concluding ceremony will be held on Wednesday August 8. This was informed by Yuvavhini president Ramachandra Kotian in a media release.
