Akram Appointed Pak Bowling Coach


Lahore, Aug 25 (IBNS): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday said it has appointed former fast bowler Mohammad Akram as the national cricket team's new bowling coach for a period of one year.

PCB director Intikhab Alam has said Akram will join the Pakistan side in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the upcoming series against Australia from August 28.

Former fast bowler Aqib Javed had last served as the bowling coach of Pakistan before he resigned from the post.

Akram had played nine Test matches for Pakistan and picked up 17 wickets.

The 37-year-old bowler played 23 One Day International (ODI) matches and took 19 wickets between 1995 to 2001.
