Los Angeles, Aug 28 (IANS): Singer Madonna recently cancelled her tour to Australia, so she can spend time with her children and does not wish to be an irresponsible mother.
The 54-year-old, who has four children Lourdes, 15, Rocco, 12, David and Mercy, both seven, apologised to her Australian fans via a YouTube message while explaining the reason behind her action, reports contactmusic.com.
"I really feel I would be an irresponsible parent if I didn't stop my tour and spent time with them. My daughter (Lourdes) is going to be leaving home soon," she said in the video message.
"My children are my first priority and because they are older I can't take them with me on the road everywhere," she added.
However, the singer assured her fans that she will put up her best show in Australia soon.
"Please forgive me and know when I do come to Australia I will have made the wait worth your while and I will put on the greatest show on earth," she said.
