Mumbai, Sep 2: Success has come to Indian Idol season 6 winner Vipul Mehta after years of hard work. In 2008, he had participated in another reality show 'Voice of India - Season 2' but he failed to reach the top 3. But he was determined to reach the top level one or other day, and Sony TV's Indian Idol proved to be the perfect platform for him.

"My friends campaigned for me day and night. They helped garner more votes for me and really supported me a lot," said Vipul after winning the Indian Idol crown.

"Sunny Deol is my favourite film star. I am looking forward to lend my voice to his songs," he said.

Like every budding singer, he too wants to make big name in bollywod by rending his voice to hit songs.

Vipul walked away with a cash prize of Rs 50 lac from Sony channel on which the show was aired, a Nissan Micra car, a Suzuki Hayate bike, Rs 3 lac from Max Life Insurance and a contract to record his own music album.

"I was under a lot of pressure this time as I couldn't win 'Voice of India'. Also, the judges had highs hopes on me as I was a consistent performer and versatile singer," he said adding that the experience of that reality show helped him face the camera.

Vipul composes music too and has done so for his own songs.

'Indian Idol 6' was judged by Asha Bhosle, Anu Malik, Salim Merchant and Sunidhi Chauhan.
