Canada, Sep 4: The powerful dark horse of the Tournament ‘Team Jadoo Entertainment’ clinched the fifth Mangalorean Friendship Series Initiative (MFSI) Cricket Cup, a long awaited tournament by Indian Cricket enthusiasts held on Saturday 25th August at the Earnscliffe Grounds, Brampton organized by the Mangalorean Friendship Series Initiative here in Mississauga, Canada.
Eleven 11’s took part in the seven overs a side cricket tournament, which has now become a regular and much awaited cricket fixture in Canada. The eleven teams that took part were Mumbai Dinchaks, Canman Khidaas, Mango Lassi, Bmo/Remax, MAC, Jadoo Entertainment, Victory, Blue Lite Audio 1, Blue Lite Audio 2, Naama Kudla, Happy Mangoes.
As always, the results in these tournaments have always been unpredictable, making the tournament even more interesting to the crowd of onlookers. Past tournament winners all fell by the wayside in their quest for a second crack at the cup. Its adds to the fervour because its any teams game on the day and every team is a potential winner on the day.
BlueLite Audio 2 was the top scoring team with 101 runs. The final saw Mango Lassi fall 4 runs short of Jadoo Ent score of 38 runs. During the course of the tournament, some fine batting performances, some controlled bowling, and some most delightful catches were the highlights of the day.
The other trophies awarded were best fielder Aboobaker (Jadoo Ent), best bowler Sandeep (Mango Lassi), best batsman Pratik (Blue lite 2). The all time achievement for contribution to sport was awarded to Olympio Fernandes (2 time Olympic goalkeeper for India).
MFSI and BlueLite Audio organisers and sponsors humbly wishes to thank everyone who attended and specially those who voluntarily extended the services and time for the smooth run of play in the tournament.
