London, Sep 6 (IANS): Kate Middleton is reportedly expecting her first child with husband Prince William.
The couple, who tied the knot April 29 last year, has reportedly been trying to conceive for some time and are overjoyed over their baby news.
"Friends say Kate is convinced it's happened, and while she and William are keeping the news close to the vest, they're delirious with joy," showbizspy.com quoted a source as saying.
"A woman can always tell when the earliest signs appear, and it's believed that a passionate night together at their rented country house on an estate in Wales, just after the end of the London Olympics, did the trick," added the source.
A formal announcement is expected.
"It would be formally (announced) through the palace press office, but only after the royal gynaecologist is absolutely convinced that Kate is in peak condition," said the source.
The news follows months of speculation that the couple has been eager to have a child, and in a previous interview William refused to confirm or deny reports of a pregnancy.
"You won't get anything out of me. Tight lipped. I am just very keen to have a family and both Catherine and I, you know, are looking forward to having a family in the future," he said.
Meanwhile, sources say Middleton doesn't keep a housekeeper, chef or stylist and enjoys fulfilling her role as an officer's wife.
"Kate makes recipes she learned from her mother. She brings a sense of ordinariness that William has always craved," said the source.
