Cesar Galindo makes NY Fashion Week a Fiesta of Colour

New York, Sep 8 (IANS/EFE): Designer Cesar Galindo presented Friday his colourful spring and summer creations on the official runway of New York Fashion Week, featuring once more his comfortable, feminine style of clothing.

Czar is the name of the new line Galindo launched Friday, "inspired by a visual third dimension, a third dimension of colour", the couturier told EFE.

"I'm Mexican and the colours I have within me. New York is a very dark city (in winter) and we have to give it colour," he said.

Galindo unveiled a rainbow on the Lincoln Center runway with shades of green, blue, rose, orange, purple and yellow, some in gradated tones, without neglecting the always elegant black, as well as prints appropriate for spring and summer.

"The collection is made for a businesswoman who goes from the office to a cocktail party. They're pieces that can be worn day and night," said Galindo, who this year for the first time is presenting two collections, the Czar on the official runway and the Cesar Galindo collection outside the official circuit.

Galindo, whose mother was a dressmaker, will present Sep 13 the second collection, inspired by Art Deco.
