Report & pics by Wilson Saldanha Shirthady/Kuwait Kuwait, Sep 9: The “Kuwait Canara Welfare Association” (KCWA) under the presidentship of Steven Machado celebrated the feast of their Patron beloved Mother Mary (Monthi Fest), on Sunday 9th September 2012 at the Holy Family Cathedral premises in Kuwait city from 4.15 pm onwards. The program started with blessing of new harvest (Novem) at 4:15pm by visiting priest Fr. Antony Lopez along with Fr. Noel Almeida followed by Holy mass in Konkani at 4:30 pm. The blessed grain and dates were distributed after the mass.
Traditional fellowship dinner was blessed by Fr. Antony Lopez, Fr. Noel Almeida, Fr William Miranda and Diacon Sylvester D’Souza and served to a large crowd of gathered devotees with mouthwatering Mangalorean vegetarian dishes prepared by M & M Caterers. KCWA follows this tradition every year during first Sunday after nativity feast considering the holiday for domestic servants who do not get a chance to attend any programs which are specially conducted during weekends.
The program was lead by Nitin Castelino due to the absence of President Steven Machado. Every year the attendance for the program increases tremendously which is a proof of its popularity and sign of people in gulf missing traditional feast of homeland
Excellent photographs of Holy Family Cathedral premises in Kuwait City. Wishing you'll a Happy Mother of Vailankanni feast.
May the Lord bless KCWA and the members and their families, may Monti Saibin intercede and bless all the activities through which KCWA reaches out many needy children.
Congrats Steevan. Nice Programme. Keep the good work .
