New Delhi, Sep 17 (IANS): Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has been roped in as the brand ambassador for Indian footwear brand Relaxo to promote their sporty brand Sparx.
Akshay will endorse the brand in a 40-second TV commercial shot in Kuala Lumpur city, Malaysia.
"Relaxo is doing extremely well among the masses and it's great to be doing this commercial because not only does the product carry an astonishing style appeal, also the way this ad has been shot is pretty unconventional," Akshay said in a statement.
The 45-year-old actor has been the face of brands like Thums Up, Levis and X-Box 360.
He was chosen for Sparx as he "exudes energy, has an athletic body, is making a comeback as an action hero, depicts attitude and style and, last but not the least, adds 'sparx' to his life in everything he does," says Gaurav Dua, executive director, Relaxo Footwears Ltd.
"We are sure this new association will fortify the connect with people," added Dua.
