Chennai, Sep 19 (IANS): Tamil actress Karthika Nair, who rose to fame with superhit films like "Ko" and "Dammu", will don the role of a village girl in her upcoming Tamil film "Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum".
Directed by veteran director P. Bhartiraja, the film is set against the backdrop of a village, similar as the plot of films such as "Paruthiveeran" and "Subramaniyapuram".
"The shooting of the film was completed recently and the post-production and dubbing will start soon," a source told IANS.
"Annakodiyum..." features Manoj Bharathiraja, Karthika Nair and Iniya in lead roles.
Lyricist Gangai Amaran and Vairamuthu have been roped in to pen the lyrics for the songs in the film, which has music by G.V. Prakash Kumar.
P. Bharathiraja is popularly known for his realistic and sensitive portrayal of village-life in his movies. A Padma Shri awardee, he has directed hit films such as "16 Vayathinile" and "Kizhake Pogum Rail".
