New Delhi, Sep 26 (IANS): Actor Riteish Deshmukh's debut production venture, Marathi film "Balak Palak" (BP) about sex education, will have its world premeire at the South Asian International Film Festival (SAIFF), to be held in New York Oct 24-Oct 30.
"I'm very proud to be associated with the film. I've always believed that we could do more with regional cinema, which is already doing such great work over the last few years," Riteish said in statement.
"The script of the film has tremendous potential and the fact that it has been selected to premiere at SIAFF in New York proves that it is a story that appeals to people across beyond regional boundaries and all age groups," he added.
"Balak Palak" is co-produced by Riteish and Uttung Thakur. The film addresses the subject of sex education in a fun-filled way and guides parents on how to communicate with their children.
"The response we've received for the film has been extremely humbling and the entire team is very excited about seeing it grow from strength to strength in it's reach and connect," said Riteish.
