Mangalore, Nov 8: Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza , Bishop of Mangalore Diocese administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 97 children on November 7 at the Cordel Church.
The Bishop arrived at 5 pm and was welcomed by the parish priest Fr Valerian Pinto, assistant parish priests Fr Rupesh Madtha and Roshan D’Souza, the parish pastoral parishad vice president Praveen Patrao, secretary George D’Souza with a garland.
During his message, the Bishop adviced the children on Faith. Bishop being the main celebrant celebrated the Holy Eucharist at 5:30 pm.
In the homily he called the faithful to be the witnesses of the Catholic Faith. After the homily the Bishop administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to the children .
This year being the ‘Year of Faith’ the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation enhanced the spiritual feelings of the community that was present.
