Puttur: Mass Murder - Suspect Venkat Bhat's Skeletal Remains Found

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur

Puttur, Nov 14 : The sensational murder case of Sandhya, and her three children Vedhya, Vinuta and Harigovind, who were found dead in their house at Bettampady on June 14 this year, has taken another sensational twist.

The skeletal remains of prime suspect Ventakaramana Bhat, husband of Sandhya, was found near Kakkur forest under a tree were found on Tuesday November 13.

After the murders, which created fear among the villagers, people and the police alike had suspected that Venkatramana Bhat (56) could be the suspect as he had gone missing immediately after the murder, and that the mother and children were the victims of black magic.

But on Tuesday, the skeletal remains of Bhat along with his spectacle, umbrella and other items nearby were found in the forest. The remains were found around one kilometre away from his house where the murders took place.

Puttur rural police inform that if Bhat's murder was a case of suicide, then the murder case could be termed 'technical murder'

Earlier, there was evidence that Bhat had threatened one Vimala Naik, who was his typist and had forced her to leave his house. Bhat was then seen near a bus stand. Later it was suspected that Bhat murdered his wife and three kids and escaped, and was absconding in north India.

Now with the finding of the skeletal remains, it is still suspected that he could have murdered the four and later committed suicide.

According to police sources, it is too early to speculate anything, as detailed only investigation will bring out the truth.

    Sachidanand Shetty, Mundkur/Dubai,

Correct, our Poice Dept failed us as usual.

This is because, our youth join Police Dept only if they fail to get admission evrywhere else...

There is a saying in US..."For peanuts you get monkeys"....

Police tried to defame this poor guy,,, to sensationalise the case and to get some cheap publicty...

Dead men cannot defend themselves,,, so the are eay targets.....

I dont expect anything better from our Police folks...no matter who is ruling....

    Jai Hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

There was no reason for him to committ suiccide , even if he realy killed those peaple. Life is bigger than all , he should have left the place itself and be 'underground ' Or surrendered to police and finished the jail term , after that started a fresh lease of life.

Looks suspicious to me. He could be alive. He could have burned a body to look like he was killed and placed his belongings close to the burned remains to fake his death. Anyone agree?

Ther's something fishy about the police investigation. If the skeletal remains were found near the house within a distance of a km, then it suggests tht it was a technical failure by the police in their investigation.

Just one kilometer away from the house??????Where the Sniffer Squad were searching????This proves the total failure of the investigating team .One kilometer in the forest means the man would not be travelled through a sky way!!!!

It will remain unsolved till its proved that skeletal remains are that of Bhat. Polic esp CID in Karnataka need to improve their record. A detailed inquiry into police affairs by the public through vidhana soudha is the need. They must be made accountable.
