Chennai, Nov 20 (IANS): Telugu director Gandhi Manohar feels films should not be differentiated based on its budget and cast.
"Films should not be divided on its budget and cast. Some films are made on a mega budget with superstars, while some are made on a shoestring budget with
newcomers and smaller artists. But, if you were to simply divide films on its budget, then I strongly feel we're being partial," Gandhi told IANS.
He feels films should be identified or differentiated based on its quality.
"If one wants to categorise films, then they should do it based on the quality of the films. There's no hard and fast rule that all big budget films always succeed and likewise, even with smaller films", Manohar added.
The director is known for low-budget Telugu films such as "Na Kosam" and "Em Babu Laddu Kavala" amongst many. He is currently working on a yet-to-be-titled
Telugu project, which he intends to announce soon.
