Industry Loves to Typcast you: TV Actor Puneet Sachdev

Mumbai, Dec 16 (IANS): Most of the roles that Puneet Sachdev did on the small screen had grey shades, but now the television actor wants to break free of the image and is keen on showing off his positive side.

"You get typecast in the industry very soon. The industry loves to typecast you. I am being offered similar roles but I don't want to do that," Puneet told IANS.

Puneet was seen playing negative characters in shows like "Kasautii Zindagii Kay", "Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai" and "Bhabhi". But the actor is wary of portraying an out and out negative character now.

"Most of my characters have grey shades and the reason for my characters being this way is also shown on screen. It might be because something has happened in their past and they want to take revenge. These I don't mind playing. But I will not play an out and out negative character," he said.

Puneet revealed he was often not convinced about his characters, but still tried to play these with conviction.

"Many times I was not convinced of what my character was doing, but I played it convincingly. This is something every actor has to do, otherwise it will show on screen," he said.

Puneet is on a lookout for the perfect role the past one year and is eager to do a comedy or a positive role.

"I would not call it a break. I just hope this time would help in changing my image of a negative character in the industry," he said.

"I am looking forward to doing a comical role or a positive character. I am auditioning and going for look tests. But only when something has to happen, it happens. It is all about destiny," he said.
