Sanjay Amin Elected Tri-state FIA Chief


Washington, Dec 26 (IANS): Sanjay Amin, an IT professional, has been elected as the new president of the Federation of Indian Associations (Tri-State) of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Amin was elected along with other FIA office bearers at the community organisation's annual general meeting over the weekend at TV Asia Auditorium, Edison, New Jersey with current president Kanubhai Chauhan in the chair.

Others elected to the executive committee were: Executive Vice President, Sudhir Vaishnav; Vice President, Anand Patel; General Secretary, Srujal Parikh; Treasurer, Ankur Vaidya; and Jt. Secretary: Manjesh Behal.

Chauhan recounted the highlights of major events during 2012. These included India's Republic Day celebration in the form of the Children Dance Competition 'Dance Pe Chance', the 32d India Day Parade festivities and the Lighting of the Empire State building in New York City on India's independence day.
