Mumbai, Jan 10 (IANS): Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray Thursday demanded that India should "take revenge" from Pakistan for the brutal killing of its two soldiers near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir two days ago.
In a statement here, Thackeray said that mere condemnation of the incident will no longer be of any use.
"Send the Indian military inside Pakistan and take revenge for this horrific incident. Only then will it be a tribute to the martyrdom of our soldiers," Thackeray demanded in the front page statement in Thursday morning's edition of Saamana, the party mouthpiece of which he is the editor.
Thackeray also said that there is no point in continuing any peace talks with Pakistan as it is bearing no results.
"Pakistan is beheading our soldiers and here we are playing cricket (with them), forgetting all brutalities," Thackeray said.
Not only cricket ties, it is imperative to break all kinds of relations with Pakistan, he exhorted.
In a sarcastic tone, he said it was not expected of the "weak" government at the centre to display "courage" (of attacking Pakistan).
In a brazen violation of the 2003 ceasefire, Pakistani troops shot dead and beheaded two Indian soldiers along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir Jan 8, sparking a diplomatic row between the two nations.
