Overwhelmed by 'Seethamma...' Success: Producer Dil Raju

Chennai, Jan 12 (IANS): Telugu producer Dil Raju says he is content with the response he has been receiving from all over for his latest Telugu family drama "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (SVSC)" and is extremely happy to be associated with the film.

"I was nervous at the time of the release because it was not one of my commercial films, but I'm so happy now with the response I have been getting from audiences and critics alike. I'm delighted to be associated with this film," Raju told IANS.

"Scoring a hit with a commercial film is nothing when compared to the success of this film sans any commercial value," he added.

The film, directed by Srikanth Addala, released worldwide Friday. It is a multi-starrer project featuring Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Anjali. Its story revolves around two brothers and their family.

Asked if he was skeptical about making a multi-starrer, Raju said: "I was little apprehensive throughout, but also had good faith in my director. Having seen the response now, I feel the project was worth the effort and risk".

Raju is planning to organise special shows of the film for women, as well as a platinum disc function.

"Since it is a family story, we are thinking of organising a special screening for women on Jan 14, 15 and 16. We will also have our platinum disc function next week in Hyderabad," he said.

The film, which was released via 14 Reels Entertainment in overseas market, managed a great opening abroad.

"Telugu film SVSC takes a mindblowing start in the US. Latest count is $180,000," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted Friday.
