Los Angeles, Jan 17 (IANS): Singer Cheryl Cole, who is dating backing dancer Tre Holloway, admits she is a hopeless romantic.

Cole says she doesn't mind if he doesn't buy expensive gifts for her, as it is the thought that counts.

"For me, romance is literally thought. It doesn't matter what the gesture is, whether it's a very luxurious piece of jewellery or clothing, or whether somebody has just thought about making you a card or running you a bath and lighting you some candles," contactmusic.com quoted Cheryl as saying.

"It's the thought that I find to be romantic. And I'm a hopeless romantic, so anyone, who thinks like that is on good stead," she added.

It is believed Holloway is reportedly planning to propose to her. The couple have been together for eight months and have been spotted spending time with each other a lot.

This is Cheryl's first official relationship after parting ways with ex-husband Ashley Cole in 2010.
