Former VJ, Model Sophiya Haque Passes Away


London, Jan 17 (Agency): Ex-VJ, actor, model Sophiya Haque has passed away.

According to reports, Haque had been suffering from pneumonia and had been admitted to a London hospital for treatment for close to a week. She had also been suffering from cancer.

Sophiya Haque was a popular VJ on Channel V in the 1990s and more recently appeared in the movie Wanted.

Sophiya, who was born to a British mother and Bangladeshi father, also appeared in West End productions like The Far Pavilions in London. She had a role in the long running British TV series Coronation Street.

News of her demise spread fast over social media networks. Twitter was abuzz with news of Sophiya's death.
