Mumbai, Jan 18: Tulu-Kannadiga’s of Dahisar-Malad community on Wednesday January 16 celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at Saraswat Cultural and Recreational Center ground near NL Complex in Dahisar (east).
MLA Dr Vinod Posalkar was the chief guest for the occasion while Karunashankar Ozaa, Balachandra Mathre, Sheethala Maathre and others were the guests of honour.
Former minister Ram Nayak inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
Prominent guests like Mundappa S Shetty, Sanoor Manohar V Kamath, Suguna S Kamath, Vishnu Bhat, Ravi Shetty, Vijaya Shetty, Subhash Shetty, Raghuram Shetty Belgaum, Sadanand Shanbagh, Prabhakar Kamath, Gangar G Poojary among others were present during the celebrations organized by Borivili West MLA Gopal C Shetty.
Dr Shridar Shetty, Devidas Themkar and M Shetty spoke about Swami Vivekananda.
P S Rao and team of Divine Park, Borivili sang hymns of Vivekananda.
Prior to the celebration, a procession was taken where hundreds of people participated.
MLA Gopal C Shetty welcomed the gathering while Mugda Phatke and Ashok Shetty compered.
