Rs 13-crore mobile bill shocks M'lorean entrepreneur

Daijiworld Media Network – Mumbai (VM)

Mumbai, Feb 9: We have heard customers receiving unfairly large mobile bills in the past, but these bills cannot match bill of Vishwanth Shetty who received a text message from the operator that stated ‘Your bill due for the month of January is Rs 13 cr.

Vishwanath Shetty, a businessman got the shock of his life on Thursday February 7 when he received the mobile bill of Rs 13,18,47,813.

Shetty for the past 10 years was using MTNL Dolphin post paid services. Every month he used to get a bill which ranged from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500.

I am an old customer and I enjoy the network and services provided by them. I had received a bill of Rs 1,318 last month which is paid at the MTNL’s office in Kandivili, said Shetty.

As per the information obtained, Shetty received the bill message from the operator while he was returning back home after work. As soon as I received message, I was in shock. The message also stated to make the payment within the due date to avoid disconnection and to ignore the message if already paid, said Shetty.

Shocked by the bill, Shetty directly went to the Kandivili office and explained the matter. In return, the officers and managers said Shetty that they cannot help with it as the message is generated and sent from the central office.

One of the officials of MTNL said Shetty that the bill received by him was more than the monthly commission earned by the network.

Shetty got a relief when he got another message from the mobile operator stating to ignore the previous message which took place due to a system error.

If similar message was received by a faint-hearted person, he will definitely get a mild attack, said Shetty.

Even he make calls 24 hours a day X 30\31 days will it work out that much??
It happened in Bangalore bescom - a person was charged very heavily and was made to pay the amount although they knew it was a mistake.
They would return the excess amount at a later date (God alone knows how long it took him to get that excess amount back) but what if one does not have that kind of money - He will be jailed - what trauma that person has to go through for no fault of his!!!!!

God only save us especially in Karnataka!!!

Ooooof! It is incredible Shetty has to pay bill amounting to more than 13 crores bill towards telephone charges. These Central and State Govt. staff are very slip-shod type persons who are not working their brain properly. Thats why all these confusions takes place. Definitely if someones heart is weak or if he is a heart patiently he will collapse on the spot. Telephone Dept. mescoms and other departments should scrutinizes bill properly and prepare bills. Where is 1500 monthly bill and what is the amount billed now for crores of rupees. itsfantastics. The MTNL, BSNL should stop communicating such messages in future.
