Kundapur, Feb 27: A man and a woman suffering from mental illness, who were found wandering in the city are now under the shelter of Snehalaya Ashram for treatment.

Prameela D’Souza, Marcy and Leena are the three people who showed concern towards them and contacted Snehalaya trust of Mangalore through which they will now receive required treatment and will possibly get a new lease of life.

The woman hailing from Bhatkal used to collect scrap in major areas of the town. She was found wandering from place to place, posing as beggar and to retire for the day, she used rest on a bench near Shastri circle. There were instances where the drunk and lechers used to trouble her.

Similarly, the man was usually seen silent whole day and only when he was hungry, he was seen going to a nearby canteen to beg for food. Once he was full, he used to lean to a pole near Shastri circle.

Suitable protection needs to be given to such people and in this direction Snehalaya trust works hard in transforming their lives, the residents of Kundapur praised.

Snehalaya will render the best treatment to these patients and will transform their life, said brother Joseph, Snehalaya head. The woman who is slightly ill will recover soon. The man will possibly take more time to recover, he added.

Congrats to you dear TRIO and to the The HOME OF LOVE (Snehalaya) that provides them the shelter and treatment!
